:::Getting Excited:::

As I told you guys before, November 1st is surprise day. And guess what?! That's tomorrow! If you have no clue what I'm talking about go here and find out. Be sure to stop by tomorrow to find out what the surprise is!

In other news, the new addition to our family, which is a rabbit and not a cat by the way, has a name. It's Lola and the hubby picked it. She seems to be enjoying herself in her new home. We did not know one thing about a rabbit before the hubs brought her home so we have done a bit of reading to figure out things like
               -What do we feed her?
-What type of a cage does she need?
               -Is she potty-trainable?
-& the hubby's only real concern, can I walk her on a leash?

Meet Lola!
They are simple pets really, I just never really knew people had them as pets. To me rabbits were strange animals. Plus, I'm kind of fond of kitties if you have not figure that out yet and they DO NOT get along with the rabbit. In fact, they'd like to have her for dinner. But, she's definitely growing on me.

Well, see you guys all bright and early tomorrow for the unveiling of my surprise!!

So, we are known for being kind of crazy when it comes to...
uhhh how do I say this...

But don't tell anyone because it's kinda of a problem. haha
Josh brought this home from work today...
She doesn't have a name yet so we are taking suggestions!
Maybe you will be the lucky one to name our rabbit friend!

Eekk! It's here!

I won one of Kim's 24 give-aways she was hosting last week over at Yellow Songbird. Man was I excited!! Not only because I never win anything but, because I won the one I wanted the most. The wonderful Sandy from Sandy a la Mode put up not 1, not 2, but 3 items for the giveaway. I could not wait for the items to get here. Today, the nice mail man (or woman since I've never actually seen the mail delivered here) brought my goodies today!
It's Here!!
Totally fashionable hair pins which I will coordinate my outfit so I can wear tomorrow!
Who sews onto cards?! Uh, Sandy does & it's awesome!
Our laundry room needed some cheering up. Who would not want to do laundry now?!
(please excuse the mess, it's a laundry room)

Thanks so much to Kim for hosting the give-away extravaganza so I could win these great items. And a super huge thank you to Sandy for giving these items away....to ME!!

I have a secret.
I still have a secret.
But, now you know I have a secret.

I will be debuting my secret on November 1st.
Just in time for Christmas.
(Why does that matter?)
Stay tuned!

For now here are some of my favorite hand-made finds.
Cut The Cake Designs makes wedding Guest Book Boxes! What a totally neat & different idea!
My Little Buffalo has Portland inspired items! & no one told me!!
La Coquelicot has brooches of all kinds!

I have to admit, I did not know much about Etsy or the hand-made world until very recently. I thought Etsy was only for the sale of super over-priced & extremely gaudy handmade items. I never realized sellers actual price their items reasonably & that I would love so many things! I think my Christmas list will include just Etsy items this year! Sorry hubs!

So everyone knows that Apple comes out with some crazy things. And everyone knows that Apple has some die-hard fans who will buy anything from Apple this is shiny. With that said, watch this.

Isn't that the silliest thing you've ever heard of and/or seen from Apple?! Well, it got me going. I went on a rant about how silly this thing is and how typing would not be easier that way! Plus a price tag {fully loaded} of $9,000. You have got to be kidding me!! Then, I found this and this.

It's not real, people. I fell for it. Now the only thing left feeling silly is me! ha!

p.s. Kim over at Yellow Songbird has a giveaway extravaganza going on to celebrate 2 years as a blogger!! There are 24 to enter! Get over there & try your luck at Shey*B's  spiffy camera strap covers or Sandy a la mode's sweet bunting flag inspired items! Today winners will be announced so this is your last shot!

Today the hubs tackled the task of hanging up three little wall cubes that I've been wanting to have hung for a while. After some serious deliberation on where to put them and how to hang them, we finally agreed and he got to work. But, not without the help of this little guy...
Anyways, here's the outcome of today's task....

What do you think? I like it. I've never been much of a decorator on the outside, like actually doing it, but on the inside my creativity is held captive. So this was fun! Oh, we also added this the other day...
The clock is one of those wall decal things but, this one has a functioning clock device too!
I scored at Target on this one for only $2!!
(My apologies for the poor picture quality)

Away in the woods

Get ready for a ton of pictures...
The hubs & I FINALLY had a weekend together for the first time in 6 months!
We went to Grandpa's because, well where else has donkeys, mini horses, peacocks, cows, & family?!
I will just give you 1 or 2 or well maybe even 3 picture from each event that occurred over this glorious weekend/mini-vacation because we took tons! Going to Grandpa's ranch really makes me wish I grew up there & was exposed to more of God's glorious creation in nature and animal life as a wee one. You'd think I would have been since I lived in Maine but, there are actually cities in Maine...really. Going to Grandpa's ranch means tons of family too, Josh's family. Not that Josh's family is not my family too because they sure are, & I LOVE them all but, it makes me miss my family something fierce. It is inevitable that when I see the hub's family that I consider moving to Maine, like now. Then I come to my senses, or real-life, & I get whiny and irritated. Ah, but such is life & here we are in Oregon.
Anyways, the real reason you came...the awesome pictorial journey through our weekend!
Disclaimer: 2 of the pictures may be PG-13 for some people as they involve hunting. Just FYI. I will warn before you get to it.
First we traveled up the hill from the ranch to the pasture. Here is where my ponies {Sadie and Thomas} plus all of the others and the horses live wild & free.
Hubs taking in the quasi wildlife.
Feeding can be kind of crazy & a bit scary when 15 horses and ponies are fighting for one person's carrots!
Jack is also with the ponies and horses. You remember him from  here!
Of course I had to get a ride in. Which is more of a sitting on event.
He's a great photo accessory!
Love. Sweet Love.
On the way down the hill we stopped at Grandma's grape vines. I tried them excitedly but, as an
avid grape-eater I was astonished to find that I don't like these ones.

The next morning hubs and pops-in-law went hunting. They figured they would not see anything.
40 minutes later hubs is waking me up to see what has occurred. Low and behold and Elk was laid to rest.
{I'd like to explain that we are not avid animal killers. Heck, I don't even eat red meat. It just happened.}
Later in the day I tried my luck at butchering up the elk. Lasted about 30 seconds.  It was interesting to watch.

Later we went to Aunt & Uncle McClean's! They had 4 baby kittens that were only 4 weeks!
Obviously I'm a sucker from kittens. Ready my blog title. The hubs stood firm against all the pleading to take one home. He prefers I don't turn into a crazy cat lady until I'm old.
We saw the chickens. & the boys even took a shot at catching them. Serious focus here on little Josh's face.

They have new Malamute/Pyrenees puppies! This is Bowser.
Isn't he just adorable?! This is moses.
Moses gets 2 pictures because I couldn't pass this one up!
After all this photo uploading I realized I did not get any pictures of Grandpa which was part of the reason for going, ah! Grandpa is 80 years old and last week he decided to get in a bull-fight. Well, the bull one and Grandpa broke some ribs and split his arm and leg open. Poor man. So we went to love on him and keep him company in his new ejector-chair! So here are some older pics of Grandpa from this past year-ish. He's so cute!
He's so handsome!
The only O'Renick men - minus Zack over in Kentucky. My hubs and Zack are the only one's to carry on the name. Can you believe it, out of all these grandkids Grandpa's got...
There's way more too...
Okay. Goodnight.

P.S. You have to head over to Kim's blog. She's having a giveaway extravaganza for her followers and it's amazing. Plus, she's amazing!

My apologies for being a bit late in the day for this week's Silly.Sunday but hey, I still made it! The hubs and I were on a mini vaca the past few days and we just got home. There was no Internet where we were! More on that later in the week - & tons of pictures too! Today's Silly.Sunday features one of our kitties!

This is how our youngest kitty, Otto, prefers to get his daily water intake.
(I have yet to learn video editing so you will have to bear with the raw-ness of them, the terrible camera holding angles, and the baby-talk to the kitty)
& this is what he does after.
He's so fat and lazy that he can not lay around like a normal cat. This just happened as I was creating the blog and I had to add it. I think we need to teach him some manners.
He always makes me laugh, hope it makes your day/night!

I was so excited. I am still so excited that we did this. I was like a child the whole time.
We went to Roloff Farms to go pumpkin picking!!!
(think Little People Big World, TLC show)
Sunday was the end to a long week and the hubs and I really needed a night together. Due to our work schedules we do not have a full day off together so date nights are really important. We took of for the Roloff Farm which happens to be only 5 minutes from our place. It was super fun, just like you think it looks in the shows, and WAY BETTER in person!
(sorry this is picture intense)
About now I'm peeing my pants in excitement!
Just arrived. Check the outfit.
First stop. Petting Zoo. This is a mini donkey. You might recall my affinity for donkeys from this post.
The creepiest lama I've ever seen.
A baby pot-bellied pig.
Quick stop in front of pumpkin patch but we couldn't stop just yet because...
There were baby tigers!! How cute!
Really in Oregon though? Kinda strange. But way neat to see!
Ok, we made it to the pumpkin patch!
I love Stick-Your-Face-Here things.
Examining carefully before choosing. {This one went home with us}
As we left I had to get a picture of their house. Kinda creeper, I know.
Goodbye Farm, it was great. We will be back with our friends in a few weeks! Yes!
Next stop on date night was to the Baghdad Theater which is a McMennamins location in North Portland. They (the pubs) are everywhere & really fun. All we got was a picture though because the hubs was really hungry & not feeling super enough to sit through a movie.
So we landed at Rice Junkies and had some very interesting food. Josh loved his Kung Pao bowl of goodness. Me, well I'm picky and should have known better than to get a greek gyro at an asian joint.

To cheer me up from not so great food...Ice Cream!!
2 times at a Stick-Your-Face-Here in one night. Awesome!
I love the city. Everything you could ever need in one place and Portland has some great spots for cheap {This night only cost $12.40, including our 2 pumpkins} and exciting date nights!
